La Casa de Doña Here, Inc.

This dream home is the ideal place to meet the needs of an adult population with severe intellectual disabilities who require assistance 24 hours a day. Each one has its own private room and share a bathroom for every two residents. They have a living room, recreational area, a spacious indoor patio area, kitchen, laundry room and all modern amenities such as electric power plant, cistern, solar panels and solar heater.

This facility was designed and built specifically with the needs of the population in mind. It has spacious hallways, high ceilings, and air conditioning in every room. It is located in front of the Mayagüez Medical Center, so its location is ideal in the case of a medical emergency. Like the other houses, the physical facility was sponsored by the federal Department of Housing(HUD) but AMPI lacks the necessary funding to provide the indispensable support services to the residents. In the case of this facility, care must be provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
